Magnetic separators are used in various areas of application to separate magnetic materials such as iron and steel (partially stainless steel) from non-magnetic materials.
The operation of a magnetic separator is based on the magnetic properties of the particles to be separated. Regardless of the type of magnetic separator, the basic principle always remains the same.
As magnetic particles pass through the magnetic separator, they are attracted by the magnetic force and adhere to or are deflected by the magnet system of the magnetic drum. With the help of suitable devices such as a rotating drum (magnetic drum separator) or a conveyor belt (overbelt magnetic separator), the magnetic particles are carried away from the magnetic field and are therefore no longer attracted. This ensures efficient and precise separation.
